Good morning, Cookeville.

I keep trying to picture the person who does the motorcycle rally and the Shakespeare hour on the same Saturday: leather vest, paper ruff, completely sincere. I have not met them yet, and I am rooting for them.

JuneBug Boogie Too opens today and runs through Sunday. The gate is $60 a person at 115 Waterloo Road. You have to be 21, and they check ID. Camping is included. The band list on their site still says TBA, so go for the rally, and call Herbert at 931-260-9339 before you promise anyone a name. Fees and rules.

Christopher FoSho is at Roasted Friday night. The show is 8 to 10 PM at 1068 E 10th Street, Suite F. Tickets are $10, and the room is 21+. Brook Jolley hosts, RJ the Character is on the bill, and the page calls both comics winners of the Get Roasted Battle League. If a small room is the Friday you wanted, this is it! Get tickets.

Rubiks Groove plays CPAC Friday. Doors at 6, an opener at 6:15, and the tribute at 7. Hip Cookeville bills it as an 80s, 90s, and 00s show built for a family crowd. The opener is not named, and the concert page does not list a price. Call the box office at 931-528-1313 before you count on a number. See the series.

Noise Pollution brings the AC/DC songbook Saturday. Same room, 10 E Broad Street, same door time. The Saturday writeup on Hip Cookeville's page accidentally says Rubiks Groove takes the stage at 7. The section is Noise Pollution, and 7 PM is how every other headliner on that page is built. Glance at the ticket before you leave the house. The price is not posted there either. See the series.

The Cemetery Walk is Saturday, and the city pages disagree on the clock. Leisure Services lists 6 to 7:30 PM and says to meet your group behind the cemetery office at 241 S Walnut. The History Museum homepage says tickets are limited for a 6 PM show and an 8 PM show, on a candlelit path. Neither page posts a price. Call 931-528-1313 and confirm which listing is live. Crawdaddy's posted the Thursday-through-Sunday board. Thursday is $5 bourbons, and they are still calling it the largest bourbon selection for miles. Friday is Blue's pink flamingo. Saturday is a made-to-order long island. Sunday opens at 10:30 AM with mimosas, bellinis, and Zing Zang Bloody Marys, plus red and white Moscato sangria. Kitchen hours run to 10 PM at 53 W Broad Street, and the bar stays open later. See the board.

Drake's brunch window is the weekend reason to go. The Sunrise Breakfast Quesadilla and the Breakfast Burrito are on Saturday and Sunday from 11 AM to 4 PM at 1010 S Walnut Avenue. Oktoberfest is still on the menu through October 4, which is the German stretch that started Monday, including Bavarian Mini Beer Brats and Reuben Eggrolls. See Drake's.

The organizer's site traces it to a small motorcycle rally in 2002, still on the same private property, still twice a year. The spring weekend is the original JuneBug Boogie. This one is Boogie Too, the fall edition, and it runs Thursday through Sunday at 115 Waterloo Road.

The gate is $60 a person. Adults only. They check ID, and the rule is 21+. Camping comes with admission, and it is dry camping, so you bring a self-contained setup. Hot showers are free. There is a bar on the grounds for beer and food, BYOB is allowed, and ice is for sale. A golf cart you bring yourself is another $30. An ATV or side-by-side is $60. Weapons stay home. Pets are discouraged, and if one comes along it stays at the campsite, tied or in a crate.

I wanted a band list. The schedule page still says the 2026 schedule is TBA, with food and merchandise vendors as the thing they will promise all weekend. That is the honest version. From I-40, take Highway 136, Hilham Road, north through town and keep left at the fork onto Waterloo. Downtown can have its Shakespeare and its CPAC shows. This is the other Cookeville, out past that fork, and it will be busy through Sunday!

Fees, rules, and the TBA schedule

Putnam County Commission on Monday postponed expanding the Class III landfill on Cookeville Boatdock Road. Commissioner Stacye Choate asked for 30 days because she had not received all 18 pages of the resolution. She wants that document posted with next month's agenda. Mayor Randy Porter said tornado debris around 2020 filled the open cells early, and that without a new cell the landfill would shut down.

Movies on the Quad – Free on the Tech quad, pre-party at 6 PM, movie at 7:15 PM

Cavaliers at Green Hill – Cookeville football is in Mt. Juliet, 7 PM, not at Cavalier Drive

The Good Table – Free breakfast at Good News Co., 185 W 12th, 9 AM to noon

Shakespearean Ruff – Make a ruff with this year's park cast, noon to 1 PM

Shakespeare in the Afternoon – Free All's Well That Ends Well discussion with Sam Raper at Plenty, 2 PM

Roasted Karaoke – Free karaoke with Soundboy, 7 to 11 PM

Tennessee Tech at Wofford – Golden Eagles are in Spartanburg, 1:30 PM Eastern (12:30 here)

Movies on the Quad moved to Friday. The Crawford Alumni Center rescheduled the free outdoor movie to September 25. Main Quad at 6 PM for a Tech student band, lawn games, and food trucks. The movie starts at 7:15. Bring a chair. The rescheduled page leaves the film unnamed. See the alumni events page.

Saturday afternoon is a Shakespeare warm-up. From noon to 1, the park cast helps you make a ruff at the Cookeville library, 50 E Broad. At 2 PM, Plenty hosts a free talk on All's Well That Ends Well with director Sam Raper. The city listing says everyone is welcome! Performances start October 2 at Dogwood. Make a ruff. Fire & Vine is the downtown table if you want dinner before a CPAC night or a late Saturday that is not a rally. 115 W 1st Street. Thursday is 4 to 9 PM. Friday and Saturday run 10:30 AM to 10 PM, so brunch is on the table before the quad movie or the ruff workshop. Sunday is 10:30 AM to 9 PM. Monday's high, the last time weather.com and I looked, was 91. Thursday is 76, with showers in the morning, and the weekend afternoons stay in the upper 70s. Sunday reads 78 and 50, with about a 4 percent chance of rain. The trees can take their time. The evenings just need to be walkable, whether you are headed to the quad, the cemetery gate, or the fork onto Waterloo.
